Monday (February 2nd)’s City Council meeting was a pretty short one, but we did adopt three pieces of legislation.
Finance Committee
Ordinance 9342 was introduced, given three readings after suspending the rules, and adopted. It amended appropriations for the 2026 fiscal year. The full list of changes is available on the City’s website.
Transportation & Safety Committee
The rules were suspended to give Ordinances 9335 & 9336 their third readings. Both were adopted with an emergency clause. These ordinances were expedited to keep on pace with the Ohio Department of Transportation's timeline. They are the next steps in sidewalk projects on Wintergarden and Conneaut Roads.
Planning, Zoning & Economic Development
Council member Herald mentioned he may have changes to suggest to Ordinance 9339 which would amend and adopt changes to Sections 38.02 and 70.41 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Bowling Green regarding classification of civil offenses and storage of recreational vehicles.
There will be a public hearing for Ordinances 9340 & 9341 on March 2nd at 6:30 PM in Council Chambers. Ordinance 9340 would amend the zoning district map of the City of Bowling Green for approximately 4.979 acres on W Newton Rd from IE Innovation & Employment to I Institutional zoning. This is next to the Community Center for one of the new fire stations.
Ordinance 9341 would amend the zoning district map of the City of Bowling Green for approximately 5.8 acres at 1168 N Main St from C Commercial to IE Innovation & Employment zoning. This property was most recently used as an office building for Poggemyer Design Group.
The next Council meeting is Tuesday, February 17th at 7 PM due to the President’s Day holiday.
As always, please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
