Last night, March 2nd, City Council held their regular meeting. Unfortunately, Jodi, our Council Clerk, was not there. Our substitute did a fine job but forgot to begin recording. The recording of the meeting did not begin until lobby visitation had already begun.

The items that were not recorded were the Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call (Council member Joel O’Dorisio was absent), Approval of the minutes from the February 17th meeting, and Correspondence, of which there was none.

No new legislation was introduced by City Council. There was no legislation for third reading, but three pieces of legislation were removed from the table:

Ordinance 9339 amending and adopting changes to Sections 38.02 and 70.41 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Bowling Green regarding classification of civil offenses and storage of recreational vehicles was amended by substitution. After this ordinance was initially introduced in January, items were discovered that needed to be corrected. Wording regarding civil offense fines and the fines themselves were changed. Council member Bill Herald asked that the storage of recreational vehicles in front yards be allowed for an additional 4 days per year, from 10 to 14.

Before the 7 pm Council meeting, a Public Hearing was held for Ordinances 9340 and 9341. No members of the public gave testimony. There was applicant testimony for Ordinance 9341. A recording of the hearing is available on the City’s YouTube page.

Ordinance 9340 was adopted. It amends the zoning district map of the City of Bowling Green for approximately 4.979 acres on W Newton Rd from IE Innovation & Employment to I Institutional zoning. This is next to the Community Center for one of the new fire stations.

Ordinance 9341 was adopted. It amends the zoning district map of the City of Bowling Green for approximately 5.8 acres at 1168 N Main St from C Commercial to IE Innovation & Employment zoning. This property was most recently used as an office building for Poggemyer Design Group.
